Salon du Chocolate Fashion Show 2013
This time last Friday Hannah Wilkins Webb and I were busy putting the finishing touches to our Steampunk dress for the Salon du Chocolat Fashion Show. With the help of Hannah’s Mum we spent the afternoon sticking chocolate cogs, cameo’s and keys to the dress and hanging more keys and cogs from the hoop of the dress.
The Fashion Show was amazing with a selection of very different dresses produced; Hannah created a stunning dress and corset using various different materials in chocolaty colours all made by hand. I hand painted cameo’s using moulds by Mamma & Mia, and piped chocolate into various cog shapes.
Our model, Emily looked amazing and wore the dress so well. Hannah had asked the make up team to make Emily look like a doll, with double lashes, gold lips and a heart beauty spot painting on her cheeky Emily look perfect. She walked down the catwalk just like a doll.
The rest of Salon du Chocolat was a fabulous experience; I hosted 2 children’s workshops making chocolate lolly pops and on Sunday morning have a talk in the Taste Theatre. I met lots of lovely chocolatiers from across Europe and managed to finally meet Vincent and Samuel the guys behind Marou Chocolate.
Below are some links to videos, blogs and press articles and a selection of photos taken of the dress (some professional and some taken by me). Hannah and I are currently looking for some where to exhibit the dress so our customers in Shropshire can see the dress.
